About
Emma Garrard is a multidisciplinary artist, creative entrepreneur, and tattooist dedicated to making a life where art and meaning intertwine. Formally trained in painting and a bold explorer of mark-making, her work is rooted in personal healing, transformation, and emotional depth. Tattooing professionally since 2006, Emma has owned multiple studios, trained over 20 apprentices, and was nominated for Best UK Female Tattoo Artist in 2012. Her deep love for portraiture and tattooing laid the foundation for a creative journey that bridges skin, canvas, sculpture, and space. She has created art in some of the harshest environments on earth — including leading a team at Burning Man to build a 33-foot sculpture in the dust — bringing large-scale vision to life through collaboration, resilience, and raw creative energy. Emma’s practice is deeply informed by her passions for permaculture, biotecture, psychology, personal development, and cultural studies — all woven into a visual language shaped by lived experience. Her art invites reflection, connection, and the radical act of self-expression.
